To everyone who has shared and donated, thank you so much for your support!! I really, truly am shocked by the absolute outpouring of love I have been shown since uploading this GFM. I'm completely taken aback.

At first, I was requesting donations of £550 to cover the costs of assessment and a treatment referral for HRT. But since the goal was reached in 14 days (wtf WOW), I've decided to go forward and raise the goal to complete costs of £900, so I can also get a secondary treatment recommendation for top surgery!

Making this GFM in the first place felt daunting by taking up space and asking for people's help. But since the GFM has been so successful, I've gained some confidence and decided to raise the goal to match the total costs. Although this journey has been tough at times, with the help of my community it is possible and that I will get the care I need.

Hi everyone,

My name is Felix and I’m trying to raise some money to make the leap and begin my journey of receiving gender-affirming care.

I’ve been on the GIC waitlist for approximately 2 years now, which compared to my fellow trans+ siblings, is relatively a short amount of time. At first, I wanted to have faith in the NHS and my ability to advocate for myself.

But in a time of increasing legislation against trans people’s bodily autonomy, debilitating waitlists, and after two rejected HRT bridging prescriptions, I feel like I’ve been left with no choice but to go private.

I am excited to begin this journey; however, it is also daunting. As a trans person who is seeking hormonal and medical treatment, it is extremely mentally taxing living in a reality where you know exactly what you need, but the required care is already inaccessible and trans people are becoming further marginalised.

Seeking any form of gender affirming care is littered with financial restrictions, bureaucratic prejudices and a lot of admin. However, with your help via donations, I can feel a sense of relief in working towards my goals - making HRT and top surgery an option that doesn’t exist in a distant future.

This GoFundMe will contribute to the costs of a gender dysphoria assessment, treatment recommendation for HRT and top surgery. I’ve provided exact details below.

Beginning this journey is a step towards aligning my current self with who I hope to be in the future

Breakdown of care:

Hopefully, after receiving these assessments, I can access a shared care plan with my GP and an endocrinologist. As well receiving a referal which will allow me to book in top surgery. However, I am aware that my NHS providers might not be willing to partake in this journey, so I might have to seek private hormonal care, which will ensue further costs.

For now, I am just seeking help so I can a gender dysphoria assessment and treatment recommendations.
