Help Felix Get a Breast Reduction!

Hi! My name is Felix. In 2020, I decided to move forward with the process of getting a breast reduction. I have spent two years on the provincial wait list for RAMQ-covered surgery. After calling to check in about my file earlier this month (September 2022), I was told there is an extremely limited number of doctors who provide surgeries covered by RAMQ, that they could offer me no timeline, but that it would not be soon. After much waiting and thinking and stressing, I have decided to reach out to my community for help in the hopes that I can crowdfund enough to cover private surgery and some of the cost of my post-op needs and care.

I have wanted a breast reduction since I was young, as I developed quite early. I have faced limitations because of my chest for as long as I can remember, like issues with my back and shoulders from the weight and headaches and facial tension from the pressure of my bra straps. It limits my ability to move comfortably and participate in sports/physical activity, which is essential for my mental well-being, as the movement is painful and strenuous. Bras that accommodate my size either don't exist or are extremely expensive, leading me to wear improper undergarments that contribute to my back and other bodily pain and severely limit my clothing options. I am tired of the mental space it takes to worry about how I will do day-to-day things, how others will perceive me, and how I can align my presentation with how I feel internally. There is much more that I could write, but I'll just say that as the two years have passed since I got on the waitlist, getting this surgery has felt more and more essential, and I no longer feel I can keep waiting indefinitely. Your support would provide a literal and mental weight off my chest and allow me to move forward with my life with one less restriction to think about. Thank you so so much <3
