Hello all! Felix was brought into the vet hospital alongside a new puppy to be euthanized due to a second broken hip. He had a previous surgery 6 weeks prior on his initial broken hip. The owner was adamant about euthanasia because he no longer wanted to care for Felix and wanted the ordeal finished while his children were at school. The owner was firm that he didn't like cats and wanted to proceed with putting him down. However, after a conversation with the vet and given another option, he decided to surrender him.
Since then, we discovered that there was no aftercare and he essentially needed to restart his rehab for his initial surgery. Currently, Felix has been doing daily physical therapy and ice pack sessions, he is now able to somewhat-steadily walk on his own, and is getting stronger each day. He will ultimately need a second surgery for his now broken hip and the second round of rehab. Thank you so much for reading this far and for helping give Felix a second chance at life <3
