We never imagined we would be in a position where we’d need to ask for help like this. Our family has always handled things privately, but right now we are facing something much bigger than we ever imagined and can manage alone.

My grandpa — a father and a beloved husband — Felix Maldonado, has recently been dealing with serious health issues. He has been diagnosed with a serious blood cancer called acute monocytic leukemia, a condition that has progressed rapidly and has taken a severe toll on his health.

This illness causes the body to produce abnormal white blood cells that prevent the blood from functioning normally. Because of this, his health has declined quickly, and he now requires urgent medical care, specialized testing, and treatment.

The cost of hospital transfer, medical studies, treatment, medications, has become overwhelming for our family. We would not normally ask for help, but at this time, we have no other choice.
