My brother, Felipe (Age 35), was admitted for sudden Advanced Heart Failure on 01/13/2023. Felipe is known for being a social, positive, and nature-loving person. He is dedicated to supporting our family and his work; never did we expect his life to be at risk.
In December, Felipe began to show some symptoms that are not unheard of by a diabetic patient – before that, he was sick with a common cold and was diagnosed with bronchitis. Little did we know, his bronchitis-like symptoms and other signs may have been advanced heart failure. Felipe would have gone to a hospital sooner, but he was uninsured until Jan 1, 2023. He has never had any diagnoses related to the heart. After taking him to the hospital on Jan 13th Felipe was quickly put in the ICU and then airlifted to another hospital that had a team for advanced heart failure. They placed him on a heart pump and treatments while we wait for him to get an LVAD to bridge him for a heart transplant.
Because of Felipe’s sudden advanced heart failure, he had to take a leave of absence from work and lower his income bringing concerns for two open heart procedure medical costs. As a family, we strive for Felipe to focus on his recovery while we try to help take care of the hardships that come along with it. This has been a difficult time for our small but mighty family, and we cannot express the importance and gratitude for your love and support.
We humbly ask you to consider donating to and sharing Felipe’s GoFundMe which will contribute directly to his medical bills. Any amount you can give, big or small, will be graciously accepted and appreciated.
We continue to pray for his recovery and, again, thank you for your support friendship, and love.
