No one wants to hear the word cancer. It's a word that can pause your entire world, catches in your chest, temporarily unable to process any of the foreign words that tumble out afterwards. The club no one wants to join, and yet it touches us all. For Felicity it's here now, the beginning of the beginning.

What a difficult thing to have to share with those that you love, especially when you’re a ‘helper’ like Felicity. Strong and fierce and so capable of doing it all, though of course she can’t, just like none of us can, without our people, our community who lifts us up and helps carry us forward one step at a time.

With her diagnosis comes of course uncertainty, and for most of us following along, it can carry a sense of helplessness. How can we support while not adding to, how can we ease our worries while also shouldering these for one another. This precious human that we love so much is about to go through an entirely new experience, and if there is one worry I would want to push to the furthest back burner it would be money. Which, of course, is front and center in the way our healthcare system is run.

My hope with this page is to do some small part towards pushing back any potential for money worries so the focus can be shifted from capitalism to caring and healing and STRENGTH. Deductibles, out of pocket providers, second opinions, self care, massages, acupuncture, ice caps, lost wages, date nights, take out … and all the therapy! So many unanticipated expenses that can feel so discouraging.

I know Felicity has felt so incredibly supported and surrounded by love since her diagnosis. Whatever you can give, even just words of love and encouragement, will be appreciated.
