In the early morning hours of July 24, 2025 Felicia woke up to get ready for her job as an RN, as she has for the last 20 plus years. She had a headache and wasn’t feeling like herself. She told her husband she was going to lay down to rest and to make sure she was back up by 7 am because she was going to call off work. When he woke her up at 7, she was having stroke-like symptoms and couldn’t remember her manager’s name or her beloved dogs names. He quickly rushed her to the ER, and within 24 hours, she was diagnosed with a brain mass. On July 28, she underwent surgery for biopsy and removal of the mass. The biopsy came back as Glioblastoma grade 4 cancer. She has the fight of her life in front of her. She has consulted with WVU Medicine as well as Duke Oncology in North Carolina, who have developed the best treatment option possible for her. She is doing radiation 5 days a week for 6 weeks, along with oral chemotherapy daily for 3 months. After this, she will be reevaluated for progress on her treatment. She is obviously unable to work at this time, and her husband’s hours are also decreased to help assist her.

Felicia is a beautiful soul. She is kind, caring, selfless, and I know she would do the same thing for me or anyone else if they were in the same situation.
