Multiple ministries and organizations exist locally to assist the homeless. Even with our good intentions to help out, it can be hard for each of us to feel confident in making a donation. Will the donation be used honestly and effectively? Will it directly help those in need? To answer those questions, we believe we have identified a non-profit ministry that has one simple goal - to provide a meal to those in need.
This ministry can be found at St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Denison, TX and was recently visited by a reporter from KXII television station.
Volunteers work tirelessly to prepare and serve meals each day of the week (except Sunday). There are days when close to 100 people show up for a meal. We have learned though, that planning for and delivering the meals is only a part of the task. After the meal has ended, volunteers then must spend hours both washing and drying all the cooking utensils, pots and pans by hand.
Here is our ask of you...
Please consider donating to help us update the kitchen preparation area. Most importantly, to allow us to provide a restaurant-quality dishwasher to remove some of the burden of those who volunteer their time.
That's it. Make a donation today and you will directly help those who are serving. By doing so you will help those in need!
Thanks for considering this effort!
