Help Feed someone Tigray in a dire situation

Hello,
My Name is Hidat. I am a resident of San Rafael, California, but I am originally from Ethiopia. Tigray, located in northern Ethiopia, is my homeland--the place where I was born and raised, along with a large extended family.
As you might have seen in the news recently, the national government of Ethiopia has declared a genocidal war on my region of Tigray--a region that had already been systematically and economically weakened by a transportation blockade for months. The central government not only deployed its entire army to Tigray but also involved foreign Eritrean forces to fight along with its troops. As a consequence, the Ethiopian militia and army have committed some of the worst war crimes in recent history, culminating in a humanitarian crisis of epic proportions for the people of Tigray. https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/amnesty-report-describes-axum-massacre-ethiopias-tigray-76123082
Amhara Regional forces nearby have also added to the growing crisis by introducing a tactic of ethnic cleansing to the region. This has resulted in the massacre of hundreds of thousands of Tigrayans. Currently 70,000 Tigrayans are living in refugee camps in Sudan while hundreds of thousands have been internally displaced. Thousands have sought shelter in major cities such as Shire and Mekelle, while housing themselves in abandoned buildings and schools. There is a pressing lack of food, clean water, and sanitation. https://www.thetelegraph.com/news/article/Leave-no-Tigrayan-In-Ethiopia-an-ethnicity-is-16082316.php
Rape is being used as a weapon against many Tigrayan women and girls who are unable to find protection. No man in uniform is safe for them. Thousands of women and girls have reported being raped, and are frequent victims of gang rape, and worse: https://www.democracynow.org/2021/4/5/ethiopia_tigray_region_conflict_sexual_violence
It is my belief that the people of Tigray will soon disappear from their homeland unless they are able to receive help from outside sources. The current political upheaval is producing massive starvation in the region and without the generous support of people like you there is little hope. That is why I have created this gofundme page.
Every contribution made to my gofundme campaign will be used to buy basic food items (such as flour and powdered milk) and directed, via my contact person in Tigray, to desperate families. My representative there will make sure that these donated foodstuffs will reach their destination and be distributed to the people who are in the most dire situation of food scarcity. And, while I do not have the ability to resolve the general food shortage of my homeland, even helping several families to survive is well worth this campaign.
As the donations find their way inside the Tigray region, I promise that I will be sending updates regarding the families who received our help. Thank you so much for “listening” and caring about the people of Tigray. Thank you so much for your donation!
