My name is Ayak, also known as Blossom Mum. I was born and raised in Kakuma Refugee Camp before I was able to travel to Australia. Even though I left, Kakuma will always be a part of me. I know firsthand the struggles, the resilience, and the hopes of the people who live there.

Today, as a proud mother of two beautiful girls, Blossom (7) and Lulu (2). Every day, my daughters remind me how precious children are and how deeply they deserve love, care, and nourishment. They inspire me to extend that same love and compassion to children who are less fortunate.

That is why I am starting this fundraiser. I want to help families and children in Kakuma Refugee Camp, where hunger is taking away hope, dignity, and even lives.

Kakuma Refugee Camp in northwestern Kenya is home to over 270,000 refugees, many of whom fled war, persecution, and extreme poverty. Instead of finding safety and stability, they are now facing a devastating crisis: hunger.

Due to severe cuts in food aid, families are surviving on less than half of what they need each day. Many are forced to eat only one meal or nothing at all. Vulnerable groups such as children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with disabilities are at the greatest risk, facing dangerous levels of malnutrition.

The desperation is heartbreaking. Not long ago, a mother in Kakuma unable to feed herself or her baby took both of their lives. She left behind a painful message that she “could no longer watch her child cry of hunger.” This tragedy is a symbol of the suffering families face every single day.

As a mother, I cannot imagine my children crying out in hunger and not being able to feed them. That is why this cause is so close to my heart.

I am committed to making a difference. With your help, I will provide emergency food supplies such as maize flour, beans, cooking oil, and other essentials to families in Kakuma. When I have the opportunity, I plan to personally travel there to distribute your donations directly to the people who need them most, ensuring your kindness reaches them.

Every donation, no matter the size, will bring hope and relief to children and families struggling to survive. Together, we can turn compassion into action and restore dignity to those in need.
