Help Feed Horses on Gili Air and Gili Meno

Hi my name is Rebecca and I have been helping the Charity Horses of Gilis,

Horses of Gili's Charity has been doing a great job for a whole year feeding the horses on the islands but as the pandemic continues their charity is now stretched and cant keep up with the demand of feeding horses as well as looking after the sick horses so I am helping with the 2 other islands to take off some of the pressure.

I am hoping to gather $700 to $1000 per month to deliver 2 tonnes of feed to each island every month. There is 95 horses to be fed. I am hoping around $10,000 will get us through another year and hopefully we will be closer to the end of this pandemic.

I will be paying and organising the first lot of feed this week to get the food to the horses ASAP.

I have a connection on Gili Meno and also Tori of Horses of Gili Charity who will be ordering and distributing the feed as well as taking photos to show the distribution has been done and also progress photos of the worst effected horses.

The photo of this horse was taken on Gili Air last week 21.07.2021. You can see the owner still cares as the horses mane is brushed and his gear is clean but his owner cannot afford to pay for him to eat.

Some history on Gili Islands,  Gili Islands is 3 Islands just off of Lombok, Indonesia.  There are no motorised vehicles on the islands and the only transport is by horses or push bikes.  These islands thrive when there is tourism but now there is no tourism there is no income for the owners or their horses.  The horses are well behaved hardy horses that are honest little workers which makes it more heartbreaking to see them suffer.
