Help Feed Georgetown's Health Heros for Brandon

**given the outpouring of generosity, we have increased our goal, and are going to aim for providing meals for 5+ days! <3

Hi all,

As many of you know, our beloved Brandon (or "B-Wat" as many of you know him), was admitted to the ER on Sunday, March 29th due to urgent liver complications along with his ongoing chronic UC condition.

It has been an emotional roller-coaster for us over the past week and a half, as the Georgetown University ICU teams have aggressively been treating Brandon's very serious (and complicated) medical condition under the toughest of circumstances. As we all know, this is the scariest time to be sick, and perhaps an even scarier time to be a healthcare professional given the present pandemic crisis.

Although it has been heartbreaking and anxiety-provoking to not  physically be with Brandon as he fights to overcome this series of health challenges, the one thing that has been so reassuring is knowing the quality of care he is receiving at Georgetown University Hospital.

Brandon still has a long road ahead, but we are so unbelievably grateful for the progress he's made thus far. From "fate" medical connection introductions and corresponding empathetic text messages, phone calls from the nursing staff and residents at all hours, facilitated phone calls for Brandon to hear our voices, zoom meetings with the palliative care and medical teams, and even playing old school Biggie and Tupac  music in his room... because lord knows, he knows every word! This has all made a miserable situation just a little more tolerable, and undoubtedly increased Brandon's ability to fight his illness.  The selfless and fearless dedication shared across the entire hospital staff is hard to properly articulate.

On behalf of Brandon and our entire family, we can’t thank you enough for the outpouring of love and support as we continue to fight towards Brandon’s recovery by all means possible. Many of you have been asking what you can do, so here is what we think would mean the most:

1. Please keep the prayers and well-wishes coming for Brandon, our families, and his healthcare team at Georgetown. We really do believe this is a HUGE factor in his positive progress over the past few days. We appreciate the ongoing support so incredibly much.

2. Donate to feed Georgetown's ICU staff as they work long hours under unimaginably stressful working conditions. Brandon and I love The Great American Restaurants . Obviously, the restaurant industry is also suffering. We thought this would be a perfect opportunity to support both restaurant staff along with the courageous healthcare workers on the front lines in the ICU.
***$375 (+ tax) gets us 25 individual dinner meals, so lets see how many we can provide to show our appreciation on behalf of everyone with a loved one in the ICU right now, COVID-positive or not.

3. Stay home and practice social distancing. As someone very personally and professionally invested in healthcare, please stay home. Stay home for Brandon and stay home to help flatten the curve to ensure others are able to get the level of care that Brandon has been fortunate enough to receive thus far. It is not lost on us that there are so many scenarios where this may not have been possible. Please continue to do your part and encourage others to do the same.

Again, on behalf of Brandon and the entire Watson family, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support. We will continue the fight, and know that while none of us can be physically together, the last thing we feel is alone. That is a true testament to all of you. We are so lucky.

Virtual hugs for now, and we look forward to celebrating on a dance-floor alongside Brandon with all of you when this is over.

Xoxo,

Nadege, Bill, Christopher, Jennifer, and Taylor
