Help FBD Fund a New Playground for Blind Children

Hello! We are AIAS Freedom by Design, a student-run team at North Carolina State University on a mission to construct a revitalized playground for the visually impaired at the Governor Morehead School in Raleigh, NC. Freedom by Design is related to the students at the Governor Morehead School as neighbors since NC State's campus is very close to the school.

We have been generously guided by professional architects and professors and would love your help in raising money! We have worked closely in partnership with the school to assess their needs in order to design a playground that will provide a variety of play and learning experiences to accommodate all ages and abilities. The students are so excited to eventually have a playground that can be easily accessed and utilized in a safe way due to the proposed colors, textures, and materials.

The donations raised will be used for buying and installing the new equipment including parts such as a new swing set, a running embankment, a row of chimes, and a spin station. Our withdrawal plan to get the funds from our GoFundMe to the Governor Morehead School is primarily through spending on materials for the playground equipment. Additionally, our team will mostly be assembling and building the equipment ourselves since it was specially designed for the children and cannot be just bought. Any support by you will be greatly appreciated by Freedom by Design as well as those associated with the Governor Morehead School.
