Faylene Charles is the heart of our family and the most loving, caring woman I know. Growing up in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, I became a true “mommy’s boy”—my mom has always been my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the person who stood by me through every challenge. Her kindness and strength have shaped our family, and she means the world to everyone who knows her.
A few months ago, Faylene began experiencing severe pelvic pain, weight loss, and other troubling symptoms. After many hospital visits, tests, and scans, we received the devastating news that she has Stage III cervical cancer. The doctors explained that she urgently needs chemo-radiation and brachytherapy. We consulted a doctor in Trinidad, who confirmed that these treatments are necessary. Because they are not available in St. Vincent, Faylene will need to travel to Trinidad and Tobago to receive care. The costs for consultations, scans, radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery are overwhelming for our family.
We are raising funds to cover Faylene’s medical bills so she can get the treatment she needs. This journey has been incredibly hard, but we are holding onto hope. My hope is for her to see me graduate from college next year, to be there for the milestones and joys still ahead. Your support will help give my mom a fighting chance and the opportunity to see the future she’s worked so hard for.
