Hello! We’re Faye and Jay, a loving couple who have been together for 11 wonderful years. We’re proud pet parents to our adorable dog, Chulla, and our cuddly cat, Cindy.

For the past five years, we’ve been pursuing our dream of starting a family — something we’ve both always dreamed of. But this journey has been filled with heartache, grief, and confusion as we’ve faced numerous challenges along the way.

We’ve experienced the devastating loss of a baby, along with other early miscarriages that have added to our grief. On top of that, Faye has been diagnosed with adenomyosis and endometriosis, conditions that make conception much more difficult and painful.

There have also been beautiful moments. We feel incredibly lucky to have friends who have offered to be sperm donors — something we know isn’t possible for everyone — and our community has supported us over the years. But trying at home, month after month, without proper medical support has been a challenging journey to navigate.

Some people might ask, “Why don’t you just get IVF on the NHS?” Unfortunately, for queer couples like us, it’s not that simple. The NHS requires that couples pay for a minimum of six private cycles before being eligible for just one NHS-funded round. That’s simply not something we can afford.

This is why we’re reaching out to our wider community. The funds raised will help us access private medical services that could finally give us a chance to achieve our dream of becoming parents. Sharing something so personal is hard — it feels exposing — but we are at the end of our options without taking on unmanageable debt or loans.
