On what started as a normal day, I was downstairs with my grandkids when one of them mentioned smelling something unusual. I asked her to check what her Auntie was cooking, but she hesitated, saying she couldn't see. When I opened the door to go upstairs, I was met with thick smoke and couldn't see anything either. As I made my way up, I saw a big blaze over the stove. I tried to put it out, but it was too much. I quickly told my grandkids to go out the window for safety. I called for my daughter, and through the darkness, I heard her helping her two boys escape through another window.
The fire took everything from us—our home, our belongings, and our sense of security. Now, with twelve grandkids depending on me, we are left without a place to stay and unsure of what comes next. The most important thing is that we are all safe, but we urgently need help to find housing and start rebuilding our lives.
Anything will help our family to get back where we were, and that's together. I am deeply grateful for any support you can offer during this difficult time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping us move forward and keep our family together.
