On Jan 27th, my sister Fay, her 14-year-old son, Markus, their dog Georgie and cat Toasty experienced an unimaginable loss when their home was tragically completely destroyed in a fire. In a matter of moments, they lost not only their house, but everything they owned— clothing, personal belongings, keepsakes, and the sense of safety that comes with having a place to call home.

To make this situation even more devastating, their loss will not be covered by insurance, leaving them to face the overwhelming task of rebuilding entirely on their own.

Fay is an incredibly strong and loving mother, and Markus is a kind, resilient teenager, but right now they are starting from absolute zero.

They have nothing and are trying to navigate immediate needs like clothing, food, temporary housing, and school essentials for Markus, while also figuring out their next steps.

This GoFundMe was created to help ease some of that burden and to offer them a bit of stability and hope as they work toward getting back on their feet.
