Thank you to everyone who has donated to Fausto’s GoFundMe, shared his story, and reached out for updates. It is with a heavy heart that I share we will not be moving forward with Fausto’s amputation. After much deliberation and numerous tests, my family and I have made the difficult decision that the risks of the surgery, Fausto’s age, and the uncertainty of his recovery are simply too great to proceed with such a significant and challenging procedure. Fausto has received great care at VCA and the Bannockburn Vet Specialists. We are deeply grateful for every contribution Fausto has received. Your funds have gone towards his care thus far, which include x-rays, ultrasounds, medications, and ultimately, now his end-of-life care. We are truly grateful for everyone and the support our family, especially Fausto, has received during this difficult time.
