Help Fatima's Family Survive and Heal
Donation protected
Two years ago in occupied Jerusalem, I met Fatima from Gaza. She was sitting quietly near Al Aqsa while her mother prayed. This was the first time they have been allowed out of the Gaza Strip. They finally received a permit after half a decade of waiting under siege. They had to apply for five years just to leave Gaza. Just to pray. Just to have a few hours of movement under Israeli occupation.
That day, we shared stories. Her hope, her exhaustion, her joy to be in a place she’d been denied for most of her life. We kept in touch.
Today, we received photos of her mother now injured, hospitalized, and starving. Fatima, her mother, and the people of Gaza are deliberately starved, bombed, and erased. This is the logic of settler colonialism. This is what Israeli violence looks like, what ethnic cleansing looks like, what enforced starvation looks like.
I’m raising funds for food and medical aid. This is a beautiful family who represent the resilience of a people refusing to be erased and an act of solidarity with people resisting annihilation. If you can give, please do. If not, please share. Anything helps immensely. Thank you.
Liberation is not a metaphor. It is a demand. From Gaza to Ferguson, from Turtle Island to Jenin — all systems of domination must fall.
