Help Fatima and Ali overcome Carmi Syndrome.

Hello everyone, my name is Abdul Haq Samoon. I am also an Afghan refugee and recently a relative in my village reached out to me regarding his sick twin newborn babies. Today, I am reaching out to you with an urgent plea to help me save the life of these newborn twins in Afghanistan who suffer from a rare and deadly genetic disorder called Carmi syndrome.

Fatima and Ali Iqbal were born on May 14 in a remote village in Afghanistan, Momandara, near Jalalabad. They have Epidermolysis Bullosa with pyloric atresia, a severe genetic condition that causes widespread blistering on the body and blockage in the lower stomach. They need to be transferred to an advanced medical center to survive, but they are hard to come by in their area. They are at risk of dying due to the combination of skin fragility and the digestive obstruction. They are constantly vomiting, crying, and have not passed any stools. Their older brother died from complications from the same disease two years ago.

The only hope for these twins to have a normal life is to be taken to an experienced medical facility that will help them with their health. The surgery to cure the obstruction is complex and expensive. They need a high quality hospital to treat their fragile skin, which increases the risk for infection. Due to the complexity of the treatments, the family is required to relocate out of the country. If you know a place that can help this family, please reach out to me directly.

Their father, Ahmadullah, is a local farmer in a remote village in Afghanistan. Due to the ongoing humanitarian situation, his income has been slashed considerably and there is no way for him to afford such treatment. He also has to older sons aged 6 and 4. However, the twins will require post-operational medications and may also need money in case of complications, so we are asking for your support. Therefore, we are raising money. The money will be sent directly to the family to cover their travel costs, costs of living, post-transplant medication, and the remainder to save in case of any complications requiring further hospitalization.

Every dollar counts and will make a huge difference for the twins and their family. Please donate whatever you can and share this fundraiser with your friends and family. Together, we can give Ali and Fatima a new lease on life.

Thank you for your generosity and compassion.
