Help Fathi: A Palestinian Refugee Deported Into Homelessness
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Pétur Eggerz, and I’m from Iceland. I’m fundraising for my friend Fathi Sulaiman Sbdallah Alrawagh, a Palestinian civil engineer who fled Gaza in 2024 to escape the atrocities and seek safety in Iceland.
I met Fathi personally in May 2025, while he was in Iceland. We connected through my volunteer work helping displaced people. Fathi is kind, intelligent, and deeply committed to supporting his family who are still trapped in Gaza under siege.
After arriving in Iceland, Fathi applied for asylum. But he was denied under the Dublin Regulation and deported to Italy—even though Italian authorities had officially said they would not take him or give basic support.
Now, Fathi is homeless in Italy. He has:
No legal status
No right to work
No secure access to food or housing
No way to help his family in Gaza
He’s been sleeping in train stations and abandoned buildings. He’s lost over 20 kilograms since his deportation. And yet, he hasn’t given up hope.
How the funds will be used:
All funds raised will go directly to Fathi Sulaiman Sbdallah Alrawagh, to help him:
Secure stable shelter
Purchase food and essential supplies
Access basic medical care
Cover transportation to appointments
Receive legal assistance for his case
I will personally ensure the funds reach Fathi through secure and verifiable methods (such as Western Union, MoneyGram, or direct bank transfer, depending on access and security). I’m in direct and ongoing contact with him.
This fundraiser is not affiliated with any political or military group, and no donations will be used for anything related to armed conflict. Every euro will go toward helping a displaced civilian rebuild a life of dignity and safety.
Please give what you can, and share this campaign widely.
Your support means everything.
Thank you. ❤️
