Help Father of Three Get a Life-Saving Kidney Transplant

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts. Myra's husband, a brave and resilient man, and a loving father of three, is in desperate need of a kidney transplant. More than two years ago, he was hospitalized, and it was discovered that he has only one kidney, which is failing. Doctors gave him only four months to live without a transplant, but he has been fighting to stay alive ever since.

Despite undergoing dialysis three times a week and taking numerous medications, he has faced countless complications. Just two months ago, he suffered from blood sepsis, and now he is battling fluid in his lungs. Each month brings new fears and uncertainties for the family, as they never know if he will make it through the next crisis. Everyday he is in pain, and yet, he fighting to stay alive for his family in hopes for a better future.

Myra is the sole breadwinner of the family, working tirelessly as a migrant domestic worker far away from her family in the Philippines. She previously worked in Hong Kong and now in Singapore, sacrificing her own well-being to support her family. She works on public holidays and every second Sunday to earn extra income. If she could work day and night, she would. But the toll on her is immense.

In addition to the overwhelming medical expenses, the family has three children to support. Their teenage son has stepped up to help, taking care of household chores and cooking, as his father's arms and body are too weak. In his frustration to contribute, her husband once attempted housework, resulting in a burst vein in his arm, complicating access points for dialysis.

Myra is also supporting her parents and her youngest sibling, who is still in school. It is heartbreaking to see how Myra has to choose between putting food on the table for her parents and providing the life-saving medical support for her husband.

Myra is an extremely kind person. During the challenging times of COVID, she displayed an incredible spirit of community by buying rice for her neighborhood in the Philippines. Not just once, but several times! This was before she faced her own hardships and lost everything she had. Despite her personal losses, Myra continues to embody kindness. In Singapore, when she met another domestic worker who wasn't receiving enough food, she immediately stepped in to help by bringing her rice. Her dedication to helping others, regardless of her own circumstances, is inspiring.

The only way this family has a fighting chance is if Limuel can get a kidney transplant. But that costs 800,000 Philippine Pesos (18,000 SGD or 13,300 USD). Myra is trying to save money, but every month brings new complications and unexpected expenses. She wouldn't be able to save this money in these conditions, not even in 20 years. They have sold everything they have.

Help this family have a father, husband, and chance to live!
