My family was given an opportunity to buy our house that we have lived in for the last 4 years. Our landlord has been wonderful with us  and offered us the opportunity to purchase the home . My credit was garbage and I have worked so hard to clean it up by paying out over $4,000 dollars to get my credit score up over 100 points since June. But now we are short on the down payment and our closing date is Oct 2nd. We need all the help we can get, and it would be a true blessing if we can make this happen. I am the only one that works in the household due to my wife being disabled. I work in the tourism industry and with COVID-19, the last 7 months has killed my overtime that I would normally get. We have been so frugal with spending but it doesn't seem like enough. I hate asking for help but I don't know what else to do. Yes, we are asking for an extension for the closing date but I don't think we will get it. If we don't close on the house we will have to move and lose out on over $3,000 that we have put down in escrow and other costs. A lot of other expenses that have come up to pay other bills like electricity, car payment, water, and others that have caused us not to be able to save as quickly as we need.
This would be such a huge blessing to our family and we could be in a great position and not have to struggle to pay rent any longer due to the lower payment for a mortgage instead of high rent.
