HELP FATHER MARK SERVE DESERT MISSION

Fr. Mark Hodges is an Orthodox archpriest who has been serving St. Brendan's, a small mission church in the Arizona desert. He has devoted his life to pastoral ministry, and he receives no payment whatsoever from St. Brendan's.

Recently, his only vehicle was damaged while driving on an unpaved desert road between his rented room and the church. The repairs are over $3,000 (a minimal fix might be able to be done for $1500), so Father Mark needs our help!

Father Mark is staying at a parishioner's home in Golden Valley, a remote area, literally a mountain away from St. Brendan's in Bullhead City. (The little church has members 71 miles to the East [past Pinion Pines], members as far North as Dolan Springs [a 67 mile drive], and as far South as Topock [30 miles]. His gas costs alone are over $400./mo. --if God so blesses, anything over repair costs will be used for gas or in service of the Church.)

Father Mark is the only priest in the region, and St. Brendan's is the only Orthodox parish in the region with a full liturgical schedule of prayer. Without his car, he will be unable to properly care for his flock, which would be a great loss to the small but growing Orthodox community.
