Help Fat Queer Student Move From Home

My name is Leah, I am a 23 year old fat queer woman living at home with my parents. I have faced a lot of trauma in my household that leaves me struggling mentally, physically, and emotionally. I cannot handle being here much longer and need to move out as soon as financially possible, which is why I am reaching out to you.

I have constant debilitating anxiety and depression from living in such a hostile and damaging environment. My family has made it clear they want me gone. I also recently lost my emotional support animal I have had since I was 7, leaving me with less support than ever before.

I have been told numerous times by my parents they ‘will have to bury me next’, as well as being physically threatened, intimidated, and degraded. My belongings have been defaced, my humanity is consistently disregarded. My parents threaten to throw things at me, scream at me, among countless other things. My parents have told me over and over again I am a burden to my family, crazy, a rat, and that I am unwelcome. I cannot do laundry, shower, or cook without verbal berating. It’s gone so far I am even monitored in my use of toilet paper.

My long-time partner lost their career job due to COVID and has been doordashing to make ends meet but it is not nearly enough. I am a full-time college student gearing up to get my masters degree, and about to graduate with my bachelor’s. I cannot work due to being a first-generation full-time student and mental health issues due to living in a stressful environment.

We are thousands of dollars in debt due to being unable to pay any of our bills. Money from this campaign will first be used to immediately pay off debts owed, and then used as a down payment and proof of income to find a small studio. If not enough is raised to rent an apartment, the funds will still be used to pay off debt which will bring me light years closer to moving out, as well as increase my credit score and bring me so much closer to freedom and relief.
