Hello!
My name is Farouk Diab, and I’m a 16-year-old student at STEM High School for Boys – 6th of October in Egypt. I’m deeply passionate about astronomy and astrophysics, and my mission is to afford this science for all – especially those like me who come from limited means.
My dedication has led me to some outstanding achievements:
• President of the STEM October Astronomy Club, where I organized 11 in-person sessions, 5 online assignments, and 2 major events to engage and educate students in astronomy.
• I won 1st in the Egyptian Astronomy Olympiad (EAO) and honorably represented Egypt in the Open World Astronomy Olympiad (OWAO), where I earned a silver medal, placing 35th internationally.
• I ranked among the top 10 students in the Egyptian Physics Olympiad (EPhO).
Two years ago, I set my sights on applying to US universities, especially Stanford University, because of its strong programs in astronomy and space sciences. Since then, I’ve pushed myself to grow, learn, and rise to the level such universities demand.
Taking the SAT is essential for applying to international universities this year, but the $120 exam fee is a significant challenge for my family right now. I’m hoping to raise the funds in time to meet the next admissions deadline.
I’m reaching out to ask for your help. Any donation, no matter the amount, will bring me closer to my goal of taking the SAT and continuing my journey in science. If you can't donate, sharing this with others would mean the world to me.
