Dear Friends and Animal Lovers,

We are reaching out to ask for your help in supporting Farhana, a beloved 6-year-old Saluki with a unique and touching story. Farhana has recently been diagnosed with type B lymphoma, and we need your assistance to help her fight this aggressive form of cancer and extend her time with her loving family.

Farhana's journey began in a rural breeding farm in Abu Dhabi. At just one year old, she was rescued by House of Hounds in the United Arab Emirates when the farm was shutting down due to the decline of the global dog racing industry. In a twist of fate, Farhana wasn't initially intended to be rescued, but when another dog proved too ill for adoption, she was chosen instead. Despite testing positive for Ehrlichia, Farhana received treatment and, thanks to the generosity of her rescuers, was able to immigrate to the United States.

In Northern California, Greyhound Friends For Life took Farhana in, leading her to us (Aileen and Scott), who have given her a life full of love and adventure. Farhana has experienced more of the world than most dogs from Abu Dhabi could ever dream of, traveling and exploring with her devoted family.

At only six years old, Farhana is still young, beautiful, and full of life. Her unexpected lymphoma diagnosis has left us, and all who know and love this special girl utterly heartbroken. We are determined to give Farhana the best chance at extending her time with us, but we admit that we are financially overwhelmed and outpriced with the cost for chemotherapy treatment, and humbly are asking for your help.

The total cost of Farhana's six-month chemotherapy treatment is $13,000. Aileen and Scott have managed to secure a portion of this funding but are still short of the total amount needed to complete her treatment. We are asking for your support to help raise the remaining funds and give Farhana the gift of more time with her loving family.

Unfortunately, we do not have much time to wait things out with this sudden and unexpected diagnosis. We are pulling from every resource we have at this moment, but unfortunately with us currently not having enough to cover the entire 6 month course of treatment, frankly, making this fundraising goal would determine whether Farhana would receive the full recommended course of chemotherapy to effectively put her cancer into remission.
