Help Fan Girl Café Recover After Tragedy & Emergency Vet Crisis.
Fan Girl Café owners Betsy and Cynthia have poured their hearts into building a one-of-a-kind, inclusive space for pop culture lovers and locals alike. But behind the scenes, they’ve been facing devastating challenges, both personal and financial and now they need our help more than ever.
Just one year after losing their beloved dog Madonna, their other sweet pup Waffle developed a severe infection that became life-threatening almost overnight. The only way to save her was through an emergency surgery. Thankfully, she pulled through, but the surgery and prolonged hospital stay were extremely expensive, resulting in over $7,000 in vet bills.
At the same time, the café’s air conditioning failed during one of the worst heatwaves of the year, forcing them to close their doors temporarily, pay another $4,000 out of pocket for repairs and lost over 10k in sales as a result of being closed. These back-to-back blows have left Betsy and Cynthia struggling to stay afloat, and honestly sets backs like this could force them to close their doors permanently.
❤️ Why This Matters
Fan Girl Café isn’t just a coffee shop , it’s a labor of love, a safe haven, and a community space for fans, families, artists, and dreamers. Betsy and Cynthia are the type of people who give endlessly to their customers, to local creatives, to animal rescues, and to everyone who walks through their doors. They’ve always shown up for others, and now it’s our turn to show up for them.
Waffle is still in fragile health, and the café is in a critical moment. With your help, we can ease the financial burden, give Waffle the care she still needs, and keep Fan Girl Café open for the community.
