My cat Fang has been with me since he was just three weeks old, and he’s truly part of my family. About a month ago, Fang suffered a urinary blockage—a life-threatening condition for male cats. He had to be hospitalized for three days and needed a catheter to remove the blockage. The procedure was very expensive, and it was a stressful and scary time for both of us. Since then, Fang has been on permanent prescription food, which is already expensive, but I’m doing everything I can to keep him healthy.
Unfortunately, once a male cat has a blockage, the risk of it happening again increases. I can’t risk putting Fang through another painful and costly procedure, especially since I don’t have the resources to keep doing this. The only way to guarantee he won’t get blocked again is with a Perineal Urethrostomy (PU) surgery, which will make the opening wider and prevent future blockages. I can cover all the follow-up care, prescriptions, and some of the surgery, but I can’t afford the whole thing on my own. These funds will help cover the cost of the PU surgery so Fang can have a real chance at a long, healthy life.
Any and all support would mean everything to me. I’ve raised Fang and his brother since they were tiny kittens, and he’s only about a year and a half old now. I just want to be able to give him the long, happy life he deserves. Thank you so much for reading Fang’s story and for considering helping us.
