Hi my name is Nicola Jane and I am fundraising to help my friend Fancypants

This past year has tested Fancy in ways no one should have to endure. Beyond the painful ending of a 12‑year marriage, and realizing she needed to be safe. She’s also faced repeated and deeply unjust harassment online — messages of hate, alienation from friends and community, and threats that no one deserves. All of this has added shadow after shadow, making every day heavier.

Despite the hurt, she has shown quiet strength. She left a situation that was harming her and her son, moved out, and made a brave choice to protect their well‑being. For now, they’re staying with her family — 

a shelter from what was breaking them — but not an ideal setup. Their essentials are just barely covered. What comes next is more than survival: she deserves safety, dignity, and the chance to rebuild on her own terms.

We’re setting up this GoFundMe to help cover:

- Rent or housing so she and her son can move into a place that feels like home, not just a temporary refuge

- Basic bills, utilities, and groceries so the end of each month isn’t a fight for necessities

- Moving expenses and setup costs (a bed, kitchen items, etc.) so they can settle somewhere safe and steady

- Support for her to regain normalcy: for mental health, for peace, for the freedom to heal without constant stress
