Hi everyone,
My name is Dedrick Davis, and I’m a third-year Supply Chain Management student from Miami, Florida. Just a couple weeks ago, my life took an unexpected turn when I was involved in a hit-and-run accident that left my car completely totaled.
That night, I was being the designated driver, making sure one of my organization brothers got home safely after a party. I hadn’t been drinking at all. While driving, a gray pickup truck ran a stop sign and cut directly in front of me. I swerved to avoid hitting them, doing my best to protect my passenger and myself. My car clipped the back of their truck, and before I knew it, I crashed into a pole. The driver didn’t even stop. He just kept going.
I was taken to the hospital and treated for a mild concussion and a leg injury. I’m grateful to be here and recovering, but between the medical bills and losing my car, it’s been really tough.
That car meant a lot to me. I worked all summer to buy it with my own money no help, no shortcuts, just hard work and determination. To see something I earned through so much effort destroyed in seconds because of someone else’s carelessness has been heartbreaking.
I’m asking for help to get back on my feet. The money raised will go toward my hospital bills and getting a replacement car, so I can continue going to school, work, and doing what I need to do to stay on track.
I’m thankful for anyone who takes the time to read this, share it, or donate. Your support means the world to me right now.
With appreciation,
Dedrick Davis
