Story:

Rosa and her children are facing an emergency. Her husband, the family’s only income earner, was recently detained by ICE. Since his detention, their 8‑year‑old daughter, a kidney transplant patient who has had multiple surgeries, has been hospitalized and is struggling. The family is overwhelmed and terrified.

Rosa is currently staying with her daughter at the hospital for at least the next week and urgently needs money for food, transportation, support during follow‑up care, and to keep the household afloat while her husband is detained.

Rosa has several other young children at home, including one still in diapers, and needs support to cover their basic needs. The oldest daughter (18) is helping care for the younger children and bringing them back and forth while mom stays at the hospital.

I met Rosa through my work with a grassroots community group helping our most vulnerable neighbors. All funds will be used exclusively for the family’s immediate needs. Regular updates will be posted on this page so you can see the impact of your support. As the family does not have the means to receive direct disbursements of the funds, I have permission from Rosa A. to transfer all funds to me. I will distribute all funds to the family immediately upon receipt.

Goal: $12,000 for living expenses, housing, legal help, transportation to and from the hospital, and immediate needs.
