My sister, Nikki, and her family were recently put through an unimaginable ordeal.

While my sister was at work and her husband, Jeremy, was out getting lunch with their youngest child, someone broke into their home and took three of their four children hostage at gunpoint.

Two of the teens were able to escape, but the youngest remained trapped inside while the perpetrator held her at gunpoint, and set fire to the home.

Thankfully, all of the children made it out safely and no one was physically harmed.

In a matter of moments, my sister and her family lost their sense of safety and were forced to flee with nothing but the clothes on their backs. They still don't know the full extent of the damage to their home due to the fire, water, and gunfire damage, and they are currently living in a hotel while they navigate the uncertainty ahead.
