Help family pay medical bills for Brixton

The birth of your first child should be a special and exciting time in a parent’s life, but for Justin and Ashley Piper the morning of November 4th started with Ashley being admitted to the hospital for an emergency C-section at the 36 week mark of her pregnancy. Their son Brixton was born later that afternoon and taken immediately to the NICU. On the evening of November 9th their little bundle of joy stopped breathing and had to be intubated by the NICU nurses. At 2:30 AM Sunday, November 10th, it was decided he would be transported to INOVA Hospital for extra support. It was determined there that he had bleeding coming from one of his lungs, his platelet count was low and his breathing was abnormally fast for a newborn.
Since this time he has had numerous ultrasounds, x-rays and blood cultures to determine what was causing the bleeding and the low platelet count, however, none of these tests have been conclusive in finding answers. He is growing stronger every day, but his platelet count is still a concern since it remains below the normal level.
Many people have asked what they could do to help this family, so by donating to this GoFundMe account to help his family with the medical expenses created from being in 2 different NICU’S, the travel expenses incurred, gas and meals on the go, as well as lost wages for both parents as they are small business owners and when they are not at work they are not able to earn an income, will help them pay for these expenses.
