Hi, my name is brian kirby! My pops mark kirby is currently in critical care with a diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis along with multiple other issues aswell! Over the past years, my family has taken an unimaginable hit from every direction and in the last 3 years, it has been extremely tough. In 2019, he got an infection and got sepsis and it nearly took him then while in rehab for 6 weeks, then in 2020, he broke his hip and while in rehab he had a heart attack which required multiple stents to be placed. Then in 2021 had some shortness of breath which at the time then said was a pneumonia and went on ive antibiotic for awhile. This required him to be on supplemental oxygen which he continuously required to this day. Now, we are here and he started to require more O2 just to maintain his ADLs and this is where he was diagnosed with PF. He served 2 tours in vietnam in the navy on the uss brinkley bass and they suspect it was from asbestos exposure on his ship. Over the past 3 years, my mom has accrued roughly $25-$30 thousand in credit card bills paying for extra care needs for him which doesnt include what i have also done for his care aswell! Its extremely hard for me to ask for help, but for my parents, i would do anything and go to the ends of the earth for! So im asking this and i know its a big ask, but if you can help her and my family with this, we would be forever thankful! To take this off her plate and let us just focus and helping to try to get him well would be the ultimate blessing. If you are unable to help donate to this, i just ask that you please share it.
