- On August 17th 2024 ,while trying to fix our only car, my husband Tony experienced a life changing stroke. He was airlifted to a Tennessee hospital because of the complexities of his condition. Thank God he remained conscious through it all while I was by his side. More than 2 weeks later he was released home without the use of his entire left side with myself as his sole caretaker. This was further complicated by my poor health due to a major operation and lengthy hospital stay just four days prior to his stroke. In addition, we have two disabled adults sons whoI am caretaker of Unfortunately, despite having Medicare we are left with a mountain of medical debt from both of us and ongoing medical bills due to the conditions and subsequent new illnesses. In April of 2025 , while simply bathing , my husband's breathing and heart stopped. By the Grace of God I was led to pray and he revived . Out of caution , he went to the E.R. which generated another round of high medical bills. We have paid what was possible but we are on a fixed income and cannot keep up with the past and ongoing bills. At this time he remains unable to use his left arm or consistently get around without a wheelchair . Our present living situation is also very difficult as it a rental and poorly maintained . Rehabbing in a place that needs so many repairs with narrow doorways and poor services has only added to our distress.
We sold our home 2 years ago to avoid debt yet here we are. We have a small property that we would like to be able to put an accessible manufactured home on . A water line would be needed to make it viable. If prayers are what you can offer then they will be accepted as better than Gold as we know it's God who got us through this far.
