25% of Williston’s 81 sexual assault charges happened to ONE family. The head of this family has spent since November 2024 tirelessly working with the police to find more victims, more evidence and to push for some justice. 
As the court appearances continue. this family is having to suffer more through his trial. My name is Maureen Sawicki and I am fundraising for this family, as I am their friend and can attest to the hardships they are facing right now. Due to a publication ban for the trial they can’t even fundraise themselves. You can imagine the trauma after years of sexual assault – but the various needed therapies to recover are incredibly expensive. The stress has meant the mom is in and out of the hospitable. With the privacy ban, she can’t even ask her own church for help. And yet, the case has meant they have had to move, kids already traumatized, are trying to make friends in a new neighbourhood. Their car is on its last legs, and that is the transportation that the 4 school-aged children need in order not to have to change schools on top of everything else.
You may ask about the Victims Fund (CICB), well, Ford retracted it in 2019, meaning their $1500 allotment is already gone – but this was years (in some cases decades) of abuse. It will take years to recover, plus they need money for living. Any amount you give is appreciated and needed. In a world where victims of violence suffer in silence, I’m asking if you will show this family they aren’t forgotten.
