Help Family of 5 Rebuild after MOLD
Donation protected
Let me introduce you to the hardest-working, most humble and kind family that I know. To know Andy Bryant, Holly Whitesides, and their 3 daughters (ages 8, 4, and almost 2), is to love them, to respect them, and to be inspired by them. They are owners of Against The Grain farm (www.atgfarm.com), growing and raising biodynamic, organic food with integrity and love.
This beautiful family has suffered a major loss heading into the cold winter of Western NC. After beginning work in November on a minor repair of siding, they quickly discovered that their entire house is in the Red-Level of TOXIC MOLD, which they have been unknowingly living and breathing in for the past 10 years, contributing to health issues with unknown causes for all family members. They have had to vacate their home, losing many of their belongings (clothes, furniture, toys, everything porous in their home), and are now living in an older, small camper until the work gets finished.
They have contractors already beginning work, and they are hoping to get the renovations complete by the Spring planting season, as they will need the housing they are currently occupying for farm crew members. Realistically, the scope of work will likely take 6-8 months in total. The total estimated cost is close to $100,000 since everything, including a significant amount of framing, drywall, insulation and all of the windows need to be replaced. Their homeowner's insurance is not going to cover the expenses involved in renovating their home to healthy, and safe air quality levels, and they just need help!
Their greatest needs are as follows:
- CASH to pay the contractors
- Personal loan to be paid back (please contact them directly)
- Meal donations (please text Holly at [phone redacted])
- Short-term use of a newer, CLEAN and large camper/RV that they could live in until the work is finished.
- Join ATG's winter vegetable CSA (https://www.harvie.farm/farm/against-the-grain/signup)
Please consider what you could give to this family in need, and let's come together to help support a family that brings true inspiration, dedication, and nourishment to their community.
