Hi, my name is Samantha Brannam (left). I'm 18-years-old, a minority, and live in New Braunfels, Texas with my mother and older sister in a house entirely owned by my abusive father, and we're being kicked out with minimal idea of where we're going.

In 2015, my father walked out on me, my sister, and my mother. My mother quickly found a job, then another; with her working both jobs, my family squeaked by until 2019 when she had surgery for tumors in her throat. With her no longer able to work two jobs, my family and I went on food stamps and Medicare.

Things slowly started to improve for us until in 2020 we were told that the home we currently live in would be sold on my graduation date from high school, leaving my family and I homeless and living in our car unless funds can be raised for a down payment and moving costs for an apartment.

My family has worked out a safe place to live, with my mom having a sustainable new job at our destination. The best graduation gift I could ask for would be a home me and my family could feel secure in. I'm having to put off college for the next few years so that I may work and provide additional income for us. We ask you this very personal request to aid us in our time of fear as we try to overcome this uncertainty. Any donation big or small would be a great relief to me and my family.
