Help Family of 14 Find Safety After ICE Raid

Donation protected
In Minneapolis, our hearts are breaking. Two weeks ago, I received a call at 7:30 am from a family friend who had emigrated from Ecuador two years ago. Their house was surrounded by ICE, and their adult son, "Sam", had been violently taken in handcuffs after putting his two sons on the school bus. His sister-in-law was knocked to the ground with her baby in her arms. This family of 14, including six children, have all been working legally, completed all paperwork, and have been checking in with ICE as required. They are the kindest, most hard-working and loving family who want nothing but a better life for their children.

"Sam" was immediately sent to Texas, where he sat for two weeks with no access to a phone, a lawyer, or basic human rights. He now faces expensive legal hurdles to fight deportation. The rest of the family, fearing for their safety, had to flee their home and are now in hiding. They are unable to work or even leave the safe home, and are struggling to meet their basic needs while they wait for a chance to rebuild their lives. Many members of the family have made the difficult decision to leave Minnesota to start anew in another state, with just the clothes they can fit in a suitcase. This family is very vulnerable and is desperately seeking support.

All funds raised will go directly toward legal bills for "Sam" to support his efforts to stay in the US with his kids and wife, Greyhound bus tickets for 10 people to a new city, and food, clothing, and other daily expenses for the children. We have found the family an attorney and support to help them make plans for some members to take the Greyhound bus to a safer city. This family has shown so much strength and compassion, even in the face of such hardship. Please help this family find a stable life away from the threat of ICE. Your support can make all the difference in helping them find safety and hope for the future. They are incredibly grateful for the support.

I will personally receive the funds on behalf of "Sam" and his family and then provide them the funds via cash since the family has no bank account.
