Hi, my name is Gage and I’m 15 years old. I never thought I’d be making something like this, but my mom needs help right now — and I don’t know what else to do.

Over the last year, life has hit my family harder than I can explain. In May 2024, we lost our home and had to live between friends' houses and motels. That was one of the hardest things we’ve gone through.
A few months after losing our home, in August, my mom got into a bad car accident and we were lucky she made it out okay. But our car was totaled — and we haven’t had one since.

Then in September, we found out my mom has Triple Negative Right Breast Ductal Carcinoma, Stage III-B — a genetic and really aggressive form of breast cancer.

She’s been fighting ever since while still trying to take care of me and my brother, Grayson. She never gives up or stops pushing ahead even when she’s in pain or sick from chemo. In March of this year, she was finally able to get us into an apartment and we’re just starting to feel a little normal again.

But now, she just had her major surgery, the double mastectomy, on August 4th — and has another 3-4 weeks of recovery before starting at least 6 months of radiation therapy.

The biggest problem right now is transportation.
We have no car.
She has tons of appointments she can’t miss.
Grayson has a job he needs rides to and from, or he walks about 30 mins one way.
And I’d like to get a job myself, but I can’t without a reliable way to get there.

We’re trying to raise enough money to get a safe, used car. Nothing fancy — just something reliable to help her get to treatment, and help us take some pressure off her shoulders. Also give her some freedom and normalcy back.

I love my mom more than anything. She’s all my brother and I have, it’s always just been the 3 of us. I just want her to be able to focus on fighting this and healing — not how she’s going to get there, or do this or get that or find my brother a ride, etc.

If you can help at all, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Even just sharing this would mean so much to us.

God Bless,

- Gage

P.S.- when I decided to do this I went to my mom to help me create this. So that’s why the story is from my but is “organized by” Amanda, my mom.
