Help family from Ukraine to settle in Michigan
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Ievgenii (Eugene) Pavlov, and I'm fundraising money to help my brother and his family move from Ukraine to Michigan.
As you may know, Ukraine is being torn apart by the war that Russia unleashed on the people of Ukraine. Even though my family is relatively safe in a remote region of Ukraine: air raid alarms are a daily reality; shortage of work, gas, and power is an everyday norm for the people of Ukraine. On May 3rd Russian cruise missile hit a railroad station 70 miles away from their hometown. My little nephew, who is five years old, gets scared whenever an air raid alarm sounds in the city; he has developed anxiety and even gets physically sick.
After the United States announced the "United For Ukraine" program, I decided to apply for a chance and bring my brother Oleksandr, his wife Alona and three of their kids: newborn Maksym (1-month-old), Andriy (5 y.o.) and Vadym (15 y.o.) to Michigan. I hope they can find a safe haven here and give the kids a chance to go to school without fear of running to a bomb shelter every day.
They are flying into Detroit on December 2nd, and my wife Lindsay and I are planning to host them in our house for weeks to come. This will give them time to get on their feet, find jobs and get their own place to live. But before my brother and his wife can work, they need to apply for work authorization, which can take some time. I'm planning to support them as much as possible in the meantime, but I figured I could use all the help I can get.
If you can help with any amount of money — that would be greatly appreciated! However, if you can't but would still want to help, we would love any donations you would be willing to give. If you have some old furniture, mattresses, diapers, kids beds, toys, school supplies, clothes, kitchen supplies, etc., and are willing to donate them, please contact me directly.
All the money will be used to help my brother's family to kick-start their life in the United States, buy food and provide for the children!
My brother is a great griller and a fisherman, so hopefully, one day, he can repay all of you by cooking some fantastic shashlik and fresh fish!
Thank you for your help and support!
