As most of you may know, I have a very small, close-knit family who hates asking for help. Over the past several weeks, my mother and I have been rotating/traveling from Florida & Chicago to D.C. to assist my grandparents. My grandfather is currently admitted & receiving intensive cancer treatment at Walter Reed in Bethesda, Maryland. He served his country for 30 years in the Army as an E-9 Sergeant Major as well as a Military Police Officer. My grandmother's unexpected and sudden passing has made things extremely difficult as she managed their household, bills, etc. Travel costs, funeral services (Cremation Fees & Transport to Arlington), medical expenses & ensuring my grandparents home is maintained while he's unable to along with my own and my parents' between three states is becoming overwhelming for us. We were not prepared for this & are being spread very thin. My mother, an only child, had to witness this tragic event first hand. I have been taking off several weeks of work to support my family as much as I can both physically & mentally, my parents will be temporarily relocating until he is discharged. I am putting this out there because we have a long road ahead of us as we also prepare for my grandfathers return home upon his completion of treatment.
It is with great sadness to share that on 05.20.25 we unexpectedly lost my grandmother. She spent her last day on this earth with her husband & my mommy. Along with being a grandmother she was a wife, mother, sister, daughter & aunt. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered ❤️ It brings us peace to know she is forever safe & resting in God's arms. Please pray for our family as we navigate this heartbreaking time
