Help Family as Mother Battles Covid in ICU

Many people in the community know my mother and father Corbin and Linda Whitaker. Even before they started the Gospel Barn Church they traveled through the community locally and elsewhere singing and spreading God’s word. They have spent their lives doing more for others than anyone that I know. My mother and father not only raised me and my two brothers but also my two nieces. And for the last year and a half they have been helping others through ministry and charity in their church.

 

My mother and father both are battling Covid at this time. My father has been able to get well enough not to have to be hospitalized but my mother was admitted to CCH earlier this week and is now in the ICU at WakeMed. She is on a ventilator and we are taking it day by day, praying and believing she will pull through.

We know she will heal and make her way through this battle soon. During this time my father, who is self-employed, has not been able to work. I am starting this gofundme so that we can raise money so that he can focus on trying to get my mother the best care to get her better and to get well himself. He and my mother have known each other for 50+ years and have been married for 43. They truly are soulmates and I want him to be able to focus on his and her care at this time.

 

Not only does he have bills for home but they still have to keep the church going even though they are not able to have services currently. And we are very unsure what medical bills will result in this need for critical and potentially long-term care for my mother.
