Fire destroyed Hamrick’s house and business ( Vero Beach)

My amazing next door neighbor’s house (Randy and Sandy Hamrick) was completely destroyed today by a fire that spread throughout the entire house to make in unsalvageable. This house also was the home of their Montessori preschool that is run year round. They were unfortunate to have to deal with a few life changing events this past year, but they always remained strong and are always kind and helpful to everyone. This event is icing on the cake ( but in a bad way).

They literally lost everything. They left quickly with just themselves and their dog. I couldn’t even imagine how much shock I’d be in. People never knows until it affects themselves. Think of losing everything you have in your home ( and workplace, with the school she ran, and all of the kid’s projects and learning materials). including sentimental items. They had no time to gather anything. Everyone says things are replaceable, but those aren’t unfortunately. Although the biggest blessing is that they were able to get out in time, and with their dog.

Obviously, they will be dealing with insurance companies for quite some time, and luckily they can stay with a family member right now. Yet, they still have nothing they owned. I figured maybe this way they could use the money for clothing, food, or anything to make them not think of the devastation. Also, if you want to donate gift certificates or gift cards for restaurants or businesses (especially if you live in Vero Beach, too), contact me and I will collect and give them to them.

I didn’t post their names, as again, they have no idea I’m doing this, and it’s sensitive since it just happened today. Also, they are not people that ask for help. They are an amazing family, that are true Floridians and Vero Beach natives. The children that attend school there know it as a home during the day for them as well. My heart breaks for them. I would love for kind souls to help these kind, wonderful humans.
