Namaste, We are writing with heavy hearts.

On the morning of 26 August 2026, flash floods along the Trishuli River hit settlements in Nepal's Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, and Dhading. Within minutes, homes were swept away. Fields, bridges, and entire villages disappeared.

The latest reports confirm at least 1342 & counting lives lost in Nepal, with other agencies reporting hundreds more dead and over 4886 still missing. Behind every number is a family. A child who will not come home. A parent who was the only provider. Many of us in Australia have direct/indirect family/friends involved there.

Tamang Society of Queensland - Inc is starting this GoFundMe to:

1. Honour those who lost their lives - to help families conduct the final rites with dignity.

2. Support the families left behind - for immediate food, shelter, clothing and medicine.

3. Support children and elderly - who have lost their homes and livelihoods.

We are a small non profit community in Queensland, but with your help, our small support can bring great hope.

How your donation will be used:

• 100% of funds raised will go directly to affected families - no admin fees taken by our society.

• Priority to families who lost a loved one and have no remaining income.

• Distributed transparently through our trusted local coordinators and community leaders in Rasuwa/Nuwakot/Dhading. We will post receipts, photos and updates here.

• If you are donating from Australia or another part of the world, please leave your name so we can thank you and keep our community updated.

Even $10, $20, $50 means a week's food, a blanket, or a school bag for a child who lost everything.
