On July 8th, 2017, the President of HCMMC ( Higher Calling MissionMotorcycle Club ), Ice, got the fantastic news that his grandson, Cayden, was born. However, he also received the heartbreaking news that Cayden had little chance of survival. Ice stood by his daughter through this challenging time and offered his constant support. He even moved into the hospital, so he never had to leave his daughter and Grandson’s side. The nurses and the Ronald McDonald House made their stay as comfortable as they could. They even swapped out the chair he was sleeping in so he could at least recline back to get better rest.
So, imagine, just for a second, that your child, grandchild, niece/nephew, or any child you cared for was in the hospital needing around the clock medical attention wondering what the next minute / day would bring. Could you leave to go home to eat, shower or even find some clean clothes and potentially miss something important or any news for that matter? Of course not! This is where the Ronald McDonald House comes in. They give you the support you need so you can support the ones you love and always be close by.
After 15 precious days, Ice, his daughter and the world had to say goodbye to Cayden early on a Sunday morning.
The Ronald McDonald House is crucial in allowing parents and families to stay with their children in the NICU. Each year in honor of Cayden, Ice, the President of Higher calling and its members conducts a fundraiser and a charity ride in his name. All the money raised from this fundraiser and charity ride is donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Portland Maine to help the families that are in need. We ask that you help us, help those parents and families going through some of the most tragic times in their life. Every little bit helps a family stay close together.
