We are raising funds to provide temporary classrooms for schools damaged or destroyed by the recent floods in the Betrawati and Trisuli areas of Rasuwa, Nepal.

Hi and Namaste,

We are Sara and Matthew. Following the devastating floods in Rasuwa, communities we know personally have been badly affected, including local schools that have been damaged or destroyed.

We want to help children return to learning as quickly as possible by providing safe, temporary classroom facilities while their schools and communities recover and rebuild.

We have direct contacts in the affected areas and will work closely with local communities to ensure the funds go 100% where they are most needed. We were already planning to be in Nepal in October and will visit the affected areas ourselves.

Donations will help fund temporary classroom structures, weatherproof materials, desks and basic furniture, teaching supplies, and the transport of materials to affected schools. We are currently establishing where the greatest need is and will follow local guidance. In all likelihood the donations will pay for construction materials.

Transparency is very important to us. We will share updates, photos and details of how donations are being used, so you can see the difference your support is making.

Every contribution, however small, can help give children a safe place to learn and bring some much-needed stability after the floods.

Thank you for your generosity and for standing with the children and communities of Rasuwa and building a stronger Nepal.

Dhanyabad — thank you.

Sara & Matthew

PS: Just to disseminate any doubt around scammers who love to capitalize during times of calamity, please only donate if you know us and/or reach out for confirmation that we are who we say we are, i.e. Sara & Matthew from Brighton with a long standing association with Nepal, having lived and worked in Kathmandu and Pokhara for over 10 years.
