Help Families Hold On to Loved Ones
Donation protected
I’ve been a palliative care nurse practitioner for over 10 years now. During that time, I have had the privilege and honor to care for many patients and their families during a new diagnosis, exacerbation of an existing condition, acute event, and many times at the end of their earthly journey. Recently I was able to care for perhaps one of the most heart breaking cases of my career. Sadly, that patient was not able to overcome the disease that tormented their body but because of the incredible kindness and compassion of the nursing staff at our hospital, their family will always be able to hold their hand.
I would love to be able to do these for other families as they say goodbye but it’s not something that is in the budget. Please consider donating so that we can purchase plaster kits to have on hand to be able to give families a lasting memento of their loved one when they are forced to walk out of the hospital without them.
