A Family Struggling to Survive – Let’s Stand With Them..!
My name is Patrick, and over the past year, I’ve gotten to know a remarkable young man named Famara Ceesay, along with his sister Fatou, their three younger brothers, their little sister, and their elderly grandmother in The Gambia.
Famara is only 23, but he carries the full weight of his family. After losing both parents during the COVID-19 pandemic, he became the sole provider for everyone. He’s had to grow up faster than anyone should. He works long, exhausting hours digging foundations and wells by hand—just to put food on the table and clothes on his siblings' backs. Every day is a struggle to survive.
When I first connected with Famara, I sent him and Fatou used iPhones so they could stay in touch and keep learning. But the need goes far beyond that. This fundraiser is now focused on helping the Ceesay family meet their most basic needs:
- Food and clean water
- Clothes and shoes
- Medicine
- Rent and shelter repairs
- School supplies for the younger kids
They’re not asking for luxuries. They just want a chance to live with dignity. Famara has never asked me for money. He’s humble, driven, and devoted to his family. But no one should have to do this alone—especially not at 23.
If you’re able to give anything—even $5—please know it goes directly to helping this family survive. And if you can’t donate right now, just sharing their story makes a real difference..
Thank you for reading, caring, and supporting. It means the world to them—and to me..!
